121-122. And good and evil are not alike. Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and thyself was enmity will become as though he were a warm friend. But none is granted it save those who are steadfast; and none is granted it save those who possess a large share of good. (Al Quran 41:35-36) Koran
O Marvel! A garden amidst the flames.
My heart has become capable of every form:
It is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks,
and a temple for idols and the pilgrim’s Kaa’ba,
and the tables of the Torah and the book of the Quran.
I follow the religion of Love: whatever way Love’s camels take,
that is my religion and my faith.
Ibn al-Arabi, Tarjuman al-Ashwaq,
from The Mystics of Islam
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
Hafiz, 14th century
“Let tenderness pour from your eyes, the way sun gazes warmly on earth.”
and “I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing Light of your own Being.”
“May the light of your soul guide you. May the light of your soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart….May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and renewal to those who work with you and to those who see and receive your work.”
